Ariana Goitía is a multidisciplinary artist producing work in a variety of media including painting, drawing, collage and video. In a continual pursuit to understand the human condition, she explores themes such as sexuality, sense of self, our relationships with one another and with nature. She is interested in how natural and learned behaviors shape our romantic relationships, gender roles, and expectations of womanhood. She often creates surreal landscapes and suggestive shapes which offer colorful commentary on archaic structures and shed light on the universal fears, fantasies, and desires that connect us as humans. Goitía attempts to deconstruct and illustrate the most primal and universal elements of the human psyche - the Id, ego, and superego.
