Ann Blaas' work explores the complexities of space, perspective, movement  and color.  Within the abstractness of the “new”, is a conscious effort of coherent manipulation and interludes of deconstructed objective references.  The  visual language that combines painting and drawing relies heavily on lines and fragments or references that convey a conceptual language. Resulting in an ambiguous use of space that comes across at first as congested chaos, but settles into active pattern and language that is reflective of the perplexity that surrounds us.

Her work is currently on display at Fulton Market Kitchen as a part of our Artist Residency program.
