Joe Anderson is an artist based in Chicago who combines the performative aspect of a teacher with the technical experimentation of an engineer. Between pioneering a concrete lithography process for the floors of abandoned warehouses, or guiding paint across a canvas with thread, each of his works have at their center, a unique process. The process is the ecosystem where images, ideas, and objects reproduce and multiply, but more importantly, where the conversation begins. His work has been featured at the Art Institute of Chicago Ryan Education Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, & the Oak Park Arts Council. He received a BFA from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2010 and is currently a tenured faculty member of Oak Park District 97.
